LEGAL state grow. But according to the Federal Law this harmless plant is ILLEGAL. Marijuana is classified under federal law as a Schedule I controlled substance, defined as a drug with a high potential for abuse, no accepted medical use in the U.S., and unsafe for use even under medical supervision. Other Schedule I drugs include heroin, LSD and PCP.
However if a multinational drug company grinds up this same plant, extracts the cannabis sativa and creates synthetic Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannibinol, combines it with gelatin glycerin, iron oxide, yellow, titanium dioxide, markets it to doctors and hospitals under the name Marinol and in the process makes a bunch of wealthy wallstreet investors and politicians even richer, then it’s considered LEGAL.
